Karl Lagerfeld Teaming With Hogan

Oh, Unkle Karl, you never cease to keep us guessing. According to Grazia, the iconic Mr Lagerfeld has a collaboration lined up with the Italian luxury brand Hogan, which will see the Chanel designer develop a "special project for the Spring/Summer 2011 collection." Hogan has revealed that Lagerfeld will be working on clothes, shoes and accessories - and though the collection is being built up as a one-time venture, others speculate there's more to be told.

As we all know, Lagerfeld is a busy man. Besides his work with Chanel, Chanel Couture, Fendi and his Karl Lagerfeld line, he's a photographer, a book publisher and the owner of a Paris bookshop. But if you ask the Grazia team, a project with Hogan (a member of the Tod's conglomerate) might be a turning point. Within the past few days, Phillips-Van Heusen bought the Tommy Hilfiger fashion group, which previously owned the designer's eponymous brand. However, the new owners left that label out of the deal. Considering that Lagerfeld was open to marketing his high-end taste to the high street with a 2004 H&M collaboration, is this the start of something new entirely?
